Lima - Paracas - Nazca - Arequipa - Cusco - Machu Picchu

Day 01:             --- / Lima
Arrive at the airport in the city of Lima. Reception and transfer to selected hotel.

Day 02:             Lima
After breakfast we will leave for a tour of the Historical Center of Lima. Panoramic views of the Plaza Mayor, the government palace and Plaza San Martin, visits to the Catedral and the church San Francisco. After we will visit the residential and commercial districts of San Isidro and Miraflores which make up part of modern Lima. Later we will continue to visit the Museum of Anthropology and Archeology, where we will be able to more completely appreciate textile, ceramic and goldsmithing works. These collections emphasize the Chavín, Nazca, Paracas and Mochica cultures. After finishing the excursion we will transfer back to the selected hotel. Free afternoon for personal activities.

Day 03:             Lima / Paracas / Nazca
Early in the morning, we will leave Lima to the Paracas Peninsula. Boat excursion to the Ballestas Islands in the National Reserve of Paracas, where we can observe sea lions, pelicans, pinguins and marine birds. On the way back, we will also be able to see the "Candelabro" from the boat, an enigmatic figure that is part of the Nazca lines. At a convienient time we will depart for the city of Nazca. Arrival and transfer to selected hotel.

Day 04:             Nazca / Arequipa
Optional: In the morning, after breakfast, we depart for the Nazca airport. Then we will fly for 45 minutes above the Nazca lines, enormous drawings of animales, birds and geometric figures that still exist engraved in the desert and that can only be appreciated from the air. In the afternoon, we depart towards the city of Arequipa along the desert vallys and coast. Arrival in the white city of Arequipa, reception and transfer to selected hotel.

Day 05:             Arequipa
In the morning we begin the excursion to the city el Convento de Santa Catalina, a "small city" constructed in the XVII century and opened to the public in 1970, after being closed for 400 years. We will also visit the Plaza de Armas, La Iglesia Jesuita de "La Compañía" and the beautiful Capilla, la iglesia de San Francisco and the tipical disticts of Cayma and of Yanahuara, where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Volcano Misti. Free afternoon for personal activities.

Day 06:             Arequipa / Cuzco
Transfer to the airport the board the flight to Cuzco. Arrival and transfer to selected hotel. The rest of the morning is free in order to get acclimated to the altitude. In the afternoon, we will visit the city of Cuzco by a guided tour, seeing la Plaza Mayor, la Catedral, el templo del Sol ó Korikancha. The excursion continues outside of the city to visit the Incan complexes such as: Kenko ,Tambomachay, Puca Pucara and the impressive fortress, Sacsayhuaman, strategically contructed above a hill in order to protect the city of Cuzco. After finishing the excursion, transfer back to the hotel.

Day 07:             Cuzco / Machu Picchu / Cuzco
Early in the morning we arrive at the train station in Cuzco for a four hour trip to the famous citadel of Machu Picchu, also known as "The Lost City of the Incas".
We arrive at the station of Aguas Calientes in order to board a bus that will tranfer us for 30 minutes, ascending up a zig zag street , until we reach the incredible city of Machu Picchu. The excursion includes a guided tour of the citadel, visiting the Plaza Principal, la Torre Circular, el Reloj Solar, los Cuartos Reales and el Templo de las Tres Ventanas and los Cementerios. After the tour, there will be free time to take a walk through the surrounding area and explore the archeological site on your own time. In the afternoon we will return to the city of Cuzco. Transfer back to selected hotel and stay the night.

Day 08:             Cuzco / Lima / ---
Transfer to the airport in Cuzco. Fly to Lima and connect with your international flight..
