Lima - Cusco - Valle Sagrado - Machu Picchu

Day 01:             --- / Lima
Arrive at the airport in the city of Lima. Reception and transfer to selected hotel. In the afternoon, we will leave for a tour of the Historical Center of Lima. Panoramic views of the Plaza Mayor, the government palace and Plaza San Martin, with visits to the Catedral and the church San Francisco. After we will visit the residential and commercial districts of San Isidro and Miraflores which make up part of modern Lima. Return to hotel.

Day 02:             Lima / Cuzco
In the morning, transfer to the airport. Fly to Cuzco. Arrival and transfer to selected hotel. In the afternoon, we will visit the city of Cuzco by a guided tour, seeing la Plaza Mayor, la Catedral, el templo del Sol ó Korikancha. The excursion continues outside of the city to visit the Incan complexes such as: Kenko ,Tambomachay, Puca Pucara and the impressive fortress, Sacsayhuaman, strategically contructed above a hill in order to protect the city of Cuzco. After finishing the excursion, transfer back to the hotel.

Day 03:             Cuzco / Valle Sagrado / Cuzco (only tuesday, thursday and sunday)
Excursion to the "Sacred Valley of the Incas " where we will visit the town of Písac, with it's tipical Indigenous market, and only on Sundays mass is celebrated in Quechua, the native language. Lunch at a local restaurant in the Sacred Valley. In the afternoon we continue the trip pasing through the towns of Calca and Urubamba towards the Argicultural Center- Military and Religious "Ollantaytambo "which was constructed in order to gaurd the entrance of this part of the valley and protect it from possible invasions from settlers in the jungle, contructed by a series of superimposed terraces. After finishing the excursion we will return to Cuzco and transfer to the hotel.

Day 04:             Cuzco / Machu Picchu / Cuzco
Early in the morning we arrive at the train station in Cuzco for a four hour trip to the famous citadel of Machu Picchu, also known as "The Lost City of the Incas".
We arrive at the station of Aguas Calientes in order to board a bus that will tranfer us for 30 minutes, ascending up a zig zag street , until we reach the incredible city of Machu Picchu. The excursion includes a guided tour of the citadel, visiting the Plaza Principal, la Torre Circular, el Reloj Solar, los Cuartos Reales and el Templo de las Tres Ventanas and los Cementerios. After the tour, there will be free time to take a walk through the surrounding area and explore the archeological site on your own time. In the afternoon we will return to the city of Cuzco. Transfer and stay the night in selected hotel.

Day 05:             Cuzco / Lima / ---
Transfer to airport. Fly to Lima in order to connect with your international flight.
